Our nation and people have come a long way in a few short decades, through independence, development and economic growth. Throughout this journey, the People’s Association and our volunteer network of grassroots organisations have been growing with the community, responding to the people’s needs and encouraging residents to make a difference in each other’s lives.

To preserve our memories and to share them with future generations, we invite you to contribute pictures and stories of your experiences with PA through the years. Every picture has a story to tell, and every story has a lesson for the future. Share your pictures with us as we reminisce the past and forge the future!

It's easy to share your memories with us. Simply log-in with your WeClick.sg account and post your pictures/stories in this thread. You can also send your photographs and stories to us via email at: PA@pa.gov.sg

Need pointers to help refresh your memories? Here are some examples of photographs contributed by members of the public, sharing about their experiences with PA.

Example One
The People’s Association organised a variety of sports activities, held at the CCs and the HQ in Kallang. This helped to provide the community with something to do in their free time. The sports sessions proved to be times of excitement as it provided residents with something to participate in with their friends and neighbours.

Example Two
There used to be a field and running track at the PA HQ grounds in the past, which is remembered fondly for the many community activities that were held there. Many people would gather on the grounds for various events such as youth camps and National Day rehearsals, and the place was always lively and full of activity even in the late evenings and on weekends.

well, i managed to dig out this picture from my dusty photo album. it was a picture of me when i was about four or five years old maybe? it was taken outside the then-Telok Ayer CC. i remember i was into lion dance performances when i was a kid, and the CCs had lion dance troupes rehearsing and performing their routines. i was visiting Telok Ayer CC with my parents and we chanced upon a lion dance performance for an event.

this picture sure brings back sweet memories of my childhood, when things were much simpler and more direct. haha, really nostalgia to the max man. :)

Here's my memory from my childhood days. :)

Although I was quite a conscientious student as a kid (well, my mom will have a field day otherwise), I couldn't receive the bursary because I was holding permanent residency. This picture didn't depict the first year I received my bursary after I became a Singaporean - it was the first year I received it with my best friend who was next to me. To me, it's sorta special because we studied together and it was nice to experience the reward together, and not to mention we were going to different schools after secondary school life. :)
